From a purchasing alliance to a major nationwide food supplier for retail and foodservice
ČEPOS – Česká potravinářská obchodní a.s. was founded in 1996 as an umbrella organization to provide a unified platform for joint purchasing and joint marketing activities of local wholesalers affiliated within the ČEPOS alliance. Over the following years, the purchasing alliance evolved into a significant trading company supplying food products to independent retailers and chain customers across the Czech Republic. Through successful participation in public tenders, the company also supplies food products to government institutions and private companies with nationwide operations.
Since 1997, the company has operated its own franchise retail concept, BALA, through its subsidiary Maloobchodní síť BALA s.r.o., which currently brings together more than 1,600 franchisees.
In 2002, the company launched its own private-label product line, Czech Price, intended for both the retail and foodservice markets and currently comprising more than 300 products across food and non-food categories.
Since 2018, the company has provided its own IT technologies through its subsidiary Profikasa ICT s.r.o., designed for alliance wholesalers, retailers affiliated in MO networks, and independent retailers.
Since 2023, the company has also operated its own wholesale warehouse, RAPO BRNO s.r.o., and the local franchise system Maloobchodní síť RAPO s.r.o.
